How To Drug Proof Your Kids can help you steer your children away from the harmful use of drugs, alcohol and cigarettes.
Just the mention of the word drugs can strike fear into the hearts of many parents and carers. They often believe their children know more about the issue than they do! They worry that there is nothing they can do to influence the choices their children make when it comes to drugs, alcohol and tobacco.
Perhaps that's you or someone you know. How to Drug Proof Your Kids (DPYK for short) is here to help.
DPYK is a relaxed and informal six session course, running at Disley Baptist Church on Thursday evenings (from 7.30pm) beginning on Thursday 4th October 2007.
There will be a “taster” session on Thursday 6th September 2007, also beginning at 7.30pm.
DPYK aims to help parents:
• become better informed about drugs (including alcohol, tobacco and prescription
medications) - why and how they are used
• learn how to communicate effectively with their children about drugs
• develop plans to use at home to help their children make informed choices
• examine their own beliefs, attitudes, and behaviour about drug use
• benefit from the support of other parents and be encouraged by the fact that they are
not alone
